Unevenly cut (dramatically so)

I usually cut my own strips but buy from stores here in NYC. Since everything is coosed, I ordered online something cheap to make sure it was truly untreated and that I could tool on it. It was cut completely uneven. I expected I would have to bevel the edges- but some parts are 1/2 and some are 1/4”- so it’s a “practice” piece to explore new techniques. But I already have scraps for that. This was a waste of money
