Top positive review
Excellent mouse, extremely satisfied.

First off, I was extremely nervous buying this despite the reviews, but my good experiences with the Razer Copperhead won out. I have been using this mouse for only a matter of hours, but it has performed flawlessly. I am using Driver 2.01 and Firmware 1.07, wired mode. The wireless worked fine, but I prefer not to concern myself with battery life and remembering to put the mouse on the charger. I am coming from a Razer Copperhead that served me well enough for many years, but this new mouse absolutely blows away the sensor pickup of the copperhead. Not only does the mouse movement look and feel a great deal smoother, it has so far been able to entirely ignore the dog fur that perpetually finds itself on my mousepad. Also of note, the sensor window is no longer an open hole capable of collecting said fur. Also, as there have been complaints in some reviews, I note that I have surface calibration on. As the tracking has not faltered once and the liftoff is exactly what I am used to, I have not been the least bit compelled to experiment further. If it matters, I use the mouse at 6400dpi resolution, 500hz refresh as the default for gaming and everything else. For those curious, I am using a simple black 't-shirt material' topped neoprene rubber backed mousepad. The traditional 'thick' type ones you can pick up for several bucks at office stores. A quick addressing of some of the other complaints I have seen: The software seems less obnoxious from the original copperhead software I am used to, quite user friendly and fairly light on the ram footprint. The mouse also worked fine without a fancy driver, though that was expected. The unit I was sent already had up to date firmware. There is significantly less light emitted from the mouse than such as the copperhead, but it is rather nice to see them go with 'subtle' styling rather than garish. The wireless hub/charger, however, puts out a lot of light. Either way, the driver allows full control of brightness and color of lighting and does not really allow much room for complaint. The bottom line is that it is an excellent product and I could not more highly recommend it.

Three in a row

So I have been a long time Razor customer and have purchased their mice for years. I recently purchased another mouse and found out it was defective. I returned it, purchased this one instead, the mouse seemed great, at least until today when the battery stopped charging. I am not sure if it is the battery, the charger or the mouse but I now have a $110 corded mouse that won't work. I am not sure if Razor's quality has gone down or what the situation is but I am starting to get a bit upset. I am spending a ridiculous amount of money for quality and I am getting hardware that doesn't work. I am not saying don't buy Razor, I am simply saying keep an eye out because this seems to becoming a trend. Update 11/24/2013: So here is an update and final review for this product. First of all to get it out of the way I have updated the firmware to the latest version available. The issues listed below are NOT firmware issues, don't believe anyone saying a firmware update is going to fix the unlimited problems with their products. The sad and honest truth is Razer is designing and manufacturing faulty products while continuing to charge a premium price for them. This is the last Razor product I will ever purchase, I have had 3, yes count them 3 razor mice go down in the course of the past 60 days. We are past an accidental manufacturing mistake which I can understand, or a fluke in getting two bad mice, we are now on proof positive of Razer's quality sinking into the toilet. The insanity associated with trying to keep your Mamba charged so you can use it as a wireless mouse will stun you. The Mamba's battery is so cheap and useless, I have to assume it is not designed to actually hold a charge and Razer expected this mouse to be used as a wired mouse. You get 3 hours tops before your charge is gone and you need to start thinking about recharging the thing. Now you might say, "Well 3 hours of constant use, maybe that is just how long the battery lasts and you are complaining for no reason". Well I don't only mean about 3 hours of constant use, I mean you can spend 3 hours watching Netflix not using the mouse at all during this time and it will still run out of battery. How could this be you ask? Well let me tell you, technically goes into a sleep mode, it looks like it shuts off and requires you need to move it a bit to get it going again but it still drains the battery none the less. You might say, "Well so what, you get 3 hours of time out of the battery included, use the USB cable that comes with it and charge it while you play." Great idea except IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!! You can indeed disconnect the USB cable from the charging stand and connect it directly to your mouse. You can indeed continue using the mouse during this time and it flashes like it is charging while you are doing this. The only problem, IT DOESN'T CHARGE while connected to the cable. That is right, the cable disconnect is 100% useless, it allows you to convert your "wireless" mouse into a wired mouse. I can only assume this was overlooked by incompetence, there is no excuse for this. With such a useless battery this feature could have made the mouse bearable and I would have struggled through, but they didn't bother. I only spent $120+ on the mouse, maybe if I had been willing to fork out $150 I could have gotten a feature built into $60 mice for years. So you might at this point ask "So how is the charging stand." Well let me tell you, it is again worthless, it is flashy, it glows pretty colors and you can set your mouse on it when your done using it and walk away. When you return it will be charged up and ready for use, except it doesn't. You see, if you take your mouse and set it on the charging stand it doesn't charge because silly you, you failed to turn your mouse over and switch the mouse off. Yes that is right, if you place your mouse on the charging stand without switching the tiny button to the off position it will simply refuse to charge. In fact this is why the cable won't charge the mouse, you have to turn the mouse off before you can allow it to charge. It turns out you can turn it off and it will still work with the cable, but if you don't know this you can keep it connected to the cable for weeks and it won't charge your battery. Once again, this is a product that was designed with zero consideration at all, you get hassle after hassle after hassle out of this thing. For a premium product it should be designed simple without needing Sherlock Holmes to investigate how to charge the damn thing. So lets talk about buttons, the sensitivity buttons are ultra hyper sensitive, you will bump them all the time making your mouse suddenly start racing all over the screen or slowing to a crawl. I ended up disabling the buttons because no matter what you do you will bump into them. The left and right clickers are fine, I appreciate that I can click them half way up the mouse and they still work perfectly. The mouse is actually very comfortable in your hand, the wheel is great although I wish the wheel click was a bit more firm. It also moves very smooth over my mouse pad or my desk, so again the mouse moves silky smooth. I just wish Razer would create a quality control department and actually have people test these products before they release them. Take a note from Apple, if you can't figure it out in a few seconds, you screwed up your product. On a side note, my Razer Naga Magma died on me last week, I replaced my Magma with the Mamba so I could go wireless. I took my Magma to work, figuring it would be a nice change from the cheap HP mouse I was provided and a few days after I got it there my right mouse button died. I had my magma for about a year, so over the past 60 days I have seen 3 Razer mice fall apart. Take this information as you will, I can only keep dropping $100 on a device only to find out it is frustrating before I need to start spending my money elsewhere. Sorry Razer, it takes years to earn loyal customers, only a few seconds or bad decisions to lose them for life! Update 1/9/2014: I am back with another extra annoying bug in the mouse I wanted to share and will continue to do so until it finally dies. When the mouse runs out of battery (so all the time) and you connect the cable, turn off the mouse so it will charge, lucky you your mouse preferences stop working. Suddenly your mouse is hyper fast and you cannot click on anything without extreme concentration. Nothing fixes this except a restart of your PC, so expect to be restarting your PC 3 or 4 times a day to get your mouse to work.
