Great Chair
By Michael Mac on Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2013
The chair arrived very well packaged. Assembly basically consisted of attaching the back to the base of the chair -- two bolts in the arms and two bolts/cotter-pins to connect to the seat. The ottoman connects to its base with 8 bolts...the alignment of one hole was very slightly off but of no consequence.Once assembled, the chair is a very attractive piece of furniture and feels solid. Overall, the chair is comfortable but perhaps a little too firm. The cushioning is essentially a one-inch layer of memory foam...you aren't going to sink back into this chair. On the other hand, there is plenty of support including the lower back. The head rest is a matter of taste...at first I liked it but quickly decided I didn't. It flips to the other side of the chair if you don't want to use it. I'm a little over 6 foot and a little over 200 lbs...not a small guy. The chair back is of adequate height but if you are in the 6' 5" range, you may want to see one in the store first. While the chair seat is of adequate width, the arm rests are narrow. The chair is essentially a reclining glider. Loosen the knob on the right side to recline back and tighten it to lock into place. The reliability of the locking mechanism remains to be seen through the years but I suspect it'll be okay. The chair rotates smoothly on its base and is raised slightly so won't muss your carpet. It looks like it'd be fine for a hard-wood floor but I haven't tried. It doesn't take up too much floor space. My only real complaints are that I wish the arms were a little wider and softer and that the ottoman slides around the floor -- even the carpet -- too easily. If you're comparing this to the Stressless chairs, I think this is probably 2/3 of the quality at 1/4 of the price. It's closest to the Vegas which runs around $2800-$2900.

A huge disappointment
By Ilse Cooper on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2022
We live on a small island in the Caribbean and rely on importing many goods including furniture due to a limited local choice. I would never have chosen this chair if I had been able to see it for real. It looks cheap. It is not nicely finished, the neck-cussion is crooked and other seems are not straight. It is low and the height cannot be adjusted. The “recliner” feature is a joke as it has to be manually adjusted with a screw that has a clumsy wooden handle. It is no good for anyone taller than 5’6” - my husband is 6’2” and ended up with a kinked neck. He tried using it occasionally for a week and the upholstery in the lumbar region is already looking worn. I feel cheated.
