Sturdy and stylish
By B L on Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2014
We're not very good at preserving our pizza stones. We've gone through two in two years, so we wanted to be sure to pick a sturdy one this time around. I love my Emile Henry pie dish, so I thought I'd try out their pizza stone. It works well and produces better crust quality than our previous stones (which were pretty cheap ones, granted, but this one seems to work well). I was worried at first because when we heated the stone to high heat it turned the enamel brown. I thought it was a design flaw, but the red color returns when the stone cools. So far, this sturdier version has been worth the extra money. I love it.

Broke in half for no reason
By Kindle Customer on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2014
I wish that I could rate this item higher. However, it has only been used 4 times since Christmas and when removing it from the oven it broke in half. Homemade pizza went everywhere and my dinner was ruined. It was a beautiful stone and did a very good job creating the perfect crust. In half? For no reason? It is two weeks past the date when I could return it so I don't know if I will be afforded a replacement. $50 gone, poof, just like that.

As typical with this type of cookware, it works or it doesn't......We purchased this because of all the other pizza stones that we bought eventually broke......I'm sure that the constant heating and cooling was the culprit...Liked the workmanship of the stone, and it has worked perfectly so far, but the others did too...I think this is a wait and see thing......I especially like it for re-heating cold pizza and using it as a "small" Mongolian grill......You just have to remember that you can't put a frozen pizza on a superhot stone and not have it crack....Pay attention to the directions and it should last a long time...Like anything that is listed as a "stone", it can't be banged around. ...Once it is chipped that great asthetic look is gone.....The only downside of it is that it's a little pricey.....But it is a nice piece of cooking ware.
Cooks amazing pizza - in the oven or on the grill!

We love this pizza stone! Our old pizza stone ended up cracking in half (it was 10 years old!) and after reading numerous reviews, we decided to purchase this one. I love that it has built in handles, which makes it easy to pick it up. It works well in the oven as well as on the grill. We used it all summer to make pizza on the grill every week and it has held up wonderfully. Would definitely recommend this pizza stone!

Very pretty pizza stone but arrived in two pieces. I did not want to purchase another one because I was concerned about the product's durability. I was very disappointed in the customer service of Amazon.
Sent the wrong color but it is a good pizza stone

I ordered a red pizza stone but was sent a black one. It's not the end of the world since it still does what it needs to but def not what I ordered. The pizza stone itself is great though. I've used it in the oven and on the grill, works perfectly.

I realize this was a lot for a pizza stone, but it love it. The handles make it easy for my old hands to lift it from the oven. It cleans up so very easily. My old pizza stone was so nasty looking because you could not clean it. This would be a great gift, house warming, shower, etc. I use it for things other than pizza because of the even heating it provides. A winner for sure.
Versatile, gorgeous and WORKS.

Emile Henry pizza stone is like cooking on glass. Pizza zips right off, cleaning is a breeze. Take ordinary boxed pizza to gourmet level. Fine for calzones etc.
An Excellent Addition to the Grill

I bought one of these in black just after receiving a kamado style grill as a birthday gift. It's the perfect size for my grill, and I have made a lot of pizzas with it, sometimes all in one night. I've never had an issue with pizza sticking, though, because i make my pizzas on a wooden peel, after I've liberally sprinkled it with cornmeal. I have tried putting a single pizza on the stone, again with cornmeal, and putting it cold onto the hot grill (cold being room temperature), as well as sliding the pizza onto the stone with the help of a second, metal peel. Either method works great. I've had the stone up above 700 degrees F, and it's done just fine. I let it cool naturally in the grill and usually clean it up in the morning. It's not quite as simple as cleaning a teflon skillet, but not much harder. And I store it in its box, because I have a tendency to break things. If you're into grilling pizzas, especially over wood, this is a must. There are other ways to get super good crust with a grill, but this is the simplest I've found--and way cheaper than the wood-burning oven I really wanted.
Great stone but move the sticker

So far it’s working pretty well. 2 pts of concern... 1. it arrived with a giant product sticker on the front which was nearly impossible to get off and left a glue residue making it very hard to want to use it (until after several washes). Just put the sticker on the back please. 2. It’s kind of hard to slice the pizza on the stone as it just slides around. Otherwise, the stone is great.
