Loved my Brines but wanted basically the same without so much "hydrolite". These are perfect...
By Lori Swider on Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2023
The hydrolite breaks down to the point that the glasses become useless on the Brine. These only have a little embedded into the ends of the arms. The rest is typical Costa quality and vision. Great pair of sunglasses. I like the green because it easier t read with them. The blue reflective blocks so much light I can't read, lol. Personal preference. Very comfortable and don't touch any part of my head except the nose and ears. Some Costa's have rubbed on my temples. I'll have these for 3-4 years.

I have worn Costa sunglasses, specifically the Harpoon 580P with plastic lenses for years. Love the brand, style and clarity. Obviously over the years, plastic lenses will get scratched, but due to the price of glass lenses, I couldn’t afford to upgrade. When I went online during Amazon prime day sale a couple of weeks ago, I noticed they had my style with glass lenses. The price was affordable so I ordered them. Was so excited to finally be able to upgrade, but when I received the sunglasses, the lenses were plastic. I was very disappointed so I went online to return and also stated that I had ordered the glass lenses but had received glasses with plastic lenses. Return directions were provided and glasses were returned. Several day later, I received the new glasses and unfortunately those had the plastic lenses as well. I’ve been a long time user of Costa and Amazon. It pains me to say this, but I’m so disappointed in both. Never, ever had a problem with either company. Not sure where to go from here. Will probably return the latest pair when I get back into town and get my money back. And will look for a different sunglasses company.

These are the only sunglasses my husband will wear! They were priced fairly and he was thrilled when they came in. They fit his face snuggly and comfortably. Great glasses

Great pair of Costas at a discounted price. Older model (HR-10s) than what you could buy at a Bass Pro or something, but considering it's a pair of sunglasses and not much has changed from the older frames to now (I actually like the 10s over the 11s, but that's personal preference), it was a great bargain. I've also got a pair of Harpoons with blue glass lenses that are noticeably heavier than the plastic, so there's always that consideration. Great utility glasses, fabulous fly fishing glasses, still the best looking pair of Costas on the market. The metal hinges beat the heck outta the cheap plastic junctions on the fathoms/brines (these guys will break with heavy use on the water/maybe it's just my big head). Everything arrived in a timely fashion and in great shape. Great experience!
the shipping estimate was like 3 weeks

This is my 3rd pair. Lost the first pair at the beach. The second pair got a scratch so they are being repaired. I bought these so I'd have a pair to go to the beach. A word on shipping. Although I'm a prime member, the shipping estimate was like 3 weeks, I got them in like 6. So dont worry if you need them quickly. These glasses are absolutely awesome and durable. Beware of fakes. The real deal should have a faint "580" in the upper right lense close to the hinge. I saw several online before buying these. Anything less than $250 or so are fakes or stolen, period. Costa has absolute price control over their products.
Best comfort and clarity, fit perfectly.

When you put these on, you will know what quality is, stylish and clarity. I myself went for the 580 glass for max clarity and definitely not disappointed. Blocks out about 95 percent of sun light due to nice fit, definitely a value for the dollar.
did fog up on me but the Harpoon fits my face better with no fogging

I lost my 580g Costa Brine green mirrors a couple of years ago and finally bought a new pair, and decided to go with the Harpoons. The Brine, although vented, did fog up on me but the Harpoon fits my face better with no fogging! I trout fish in the mountains, bass fish here at home, and take them to the coast for the false albacore run, and they are phenomenal all the time! I also wear them daily all day for work! Great glasses! I tried different Costa frame styles locally and choose one that fit my face better and was comfortable. I LOVE my Costas!

I’ve had these for years, the frame finally gave way after about four years so I bought another pair. I wear them everyday and travel all over the world with them. They have done well despite the besting I give them.
Great product, runs wide

Personally, I have a very narrow face. These were just a bit too wide for me, but the design, quality, colors, and lenses are above and beyond. The clarity of Costa is unparalleled!! Keep that saltwater life alive!
Fake/clone or older design?

I'll start by saying I accidentally ordered two of these instead of a single pair. I was charged $169 for one of them and $188 for the other. They are the same style (Harpoon HR 11 Blue 580P) but they are different. The white "Harpoon HR 11" lettering on the inside of the right arm are different sizes. The hinges are also completely different. One pair(what i believe is authentic $188) has half of the hinge covered up where they mount to the frame and the other is completely exposed. The pair that has the hinge exposed creeks when you open and close them and fit a little bigger. The "580P" engraved in the lense is different aswell. On the authentic the engraving is slightly italicized and closer to the frame. The grips on the end of the arms are also different. The authentic pair only has the rubber on the inside while the other has it going through the arm and showing on both sides. I'm not sure if I received two items from different batches/older and it was slightly changed (hence the reason they were a little cheaper) or if I have received a fake/cloned product. I'll be sending the cheaper pair back for a return since I ordered two by mistake. I'm 100% happy with the authentic but I'll be leaving three stars because both products were different from each other.
