Great little bag for travel and everyday carry items.
By Old Coot Product Reviews on Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2023
EDC, this bag has you covered. Makes a nice day bag, quasi-urban get home bag. Wouldn't necessarily call it a bug out bag, unless you pack extremely light? This is great for travel, if you're significant other wants to give you their items to carry for them, etc. Give one to your kids if you want to, and let them pack it full of stuff, toys, snacks, etc. Get another one for yourself, to pack away all of your Essentials come and keep everything well organized. There is also a nice patch of soft velcro inside the compartment closest to your body, give or take around 4 in wide and 6 inches long, in case you have something that you need to attach or hide in there. There is an opening with good stitching at the bottom of this compartment that's closest to your back to run a hydration pack hose out if needed. I would say you could comfortably fit a 1 L or 2 L rectangular shaped hydration pack in there, leaning more towards the squarish size versus long and narrow. Definitely take a look at the photos I posted using a measuring tape. The approximate measurements are 12 to 14 in tall, 10 to 12 in wide, 7 to 8 inches deep. The water bottle pouch is approximately 3 to 4 in in diameter, leaning more towards the 4 inch side, and it is approximately 7 in tall. It will fit a standard Nalgene bottle, no problem. Most of your sports bottles will fit in here, as long as they are the hard plastic or resin kind. You might get away with thin wall stainless steel. But some of your insulated bottles that are bigger than 4 inches in diameter might be a squeeze, but you'll have to test it out yourself. What I do like is that there are a couple of D rings, one of them is on the side, and one of them is on the front, and also 1 Carabiner type clip, for something to clip into on the shoulder strap of the bag. Plenty of Molle attachment points here and there. For instance, there are two on the top of the shoulder strap that you could easily attach a tourniquet to. I do like the fact that there is a Y strap with a solid abs plastic buckle, like the kind you find on Military grade equipment. Also, there is some bungee cord underneath that which you can either remove or leave on for smaller rolled up items. Underneath that is a nice area of soft velcro that you could put some patches on. There is a padded top handle which feels great in the hand, definitely secure and confident say if you're going to move your bag from one side of your body to the other if you're sitting in a chair in the bag is on the floor. There is also a really solid side handle, but this one is not padded. Still feels great though. There is a crossbody strap, which I bungeeed up with a bongo tie just to keep it out of the way, and also keep it from dangling. If you feel like you need to use it, go for it. Though the zippers are not stamped YKK, they feel like they should be. Very solid, never had a problem. I did attach some paracord to a couple of the zippers to make them easier to pull to save time, in an emergency, you get the idea. The shoulder strap is padded all the way from the top down to the buckle. It's about 3/8 of an inch to half an inch thick, nice foam. Lots of little compartments with zippers inside and out. There's little pouches within each compartment pretty much. I wouldn't call it a compartment necessarily, but the first sleeve let's say is zippered, meant to hold something like your ID, maybe some small flat items. I use it to hold business cards. It is secured by a snap ring, so nobody can just come along and pull the zipper. The very first real compartment has a double zipper system that you can Center anywhere you like, does have a clip to attach a keyring to, and a 4x4-in square patch of soft velcro. There's also places here to put pens and things, sharpie, marker you get the idea. The second compartment, which is the main compartment, fits a lot of stuff. I usually keep a hat in here, some emergency work gloves, a flashlight, sunscreen, first aid kit, eating utensils, and some kind of mini multi-tool. Last compartment, I usually keep some form of hydration pack, or a rolled up thin windbreaker, sometimes both. I like the cushiony feel against my back. The actual outside of the pack that is closest to your body, let's call it the back of the pack, is very well padded with I'd say maybe quarter of an inch foam or so. Can't reiterate this enough, but all of the stitching does look really well done. Just as a side note, I'm not sure if this is the original company, or if the original company was called "maxforce," or something similar. The "max force" brand was based in Taiwan I believe. But after the pandemic, I haven't seen their name pop up. So I'm wondering if they sold licensing rights, or went out of business entirely. Either way, this bag is just as good, and I would purchase a couple more of them for different needs. Maybe one is a medic bag, one maybe as a snack bag I could give to a hiking partner or something to carry for me, one could be set up near the front of your dwelling to grab in an emergency like an earthquake or something with essential survival items, 24-hour bag, one could be a mobile office type bag if you go to a lot of Industry events, trade shows, you get the idea.

Not as nice as they used to make them
By Kimberly on Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2025
I bought a maxpedition bag 15 years ago and absolutely loved it. It has held up all these years and my husband has now claimed ownership of it. I decided I wanted another maxpedition bag and ordered a previously owned bag that was offered on amazon. I was sent the wrong bag, but it's a more expensive bag so I'm not going to cry about it. It's definitely not as nice as my first bag, the material isn't as nice, the string was actual bungee string on the old one. I don't know what else to expect from capitalism, so whatever.
