Sturdier than expected

Bought 2 of these mattresses a week ago, have used them once at the beach. They are medium-weight vinyl, reasonably easy to inflate even without a pump. Seams are strong. Good for sitting/laying on the beach or in the water. The pockets trap some sand and water; take some time to dry after rinsing.

So disappointing

I ordered one of these last year and it impressed me with its comfort and durability. It endured all of last summer and most of this one until a cannon-ball dive by a grandson caused the membrane between the pillow and the rest of the raft to rupture. So I ordered two more as replacements, expecting the same durability. Alas, I was to be disappointed. One of them leaked out of the box and was unpatchable, so I sent it back for a replacement. The second one seemed fine for a day or two, then it too developed an unpatchable leak. I sent it back. The replacements arrived, but all leaked out of the box. I tried patching one of them, but it had multiple leaks in places that couldn't be patched. Maybe I just happened to get defective products. Maybe I't get lucky next time around. But I'm not going to keep beating my head against a wall with these any more.
