Works extremely well for precision work
By Dangerous on Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2025
I bought this mainly for the flexible shaft that can be used for precision work. I already have a Dremel but it is very old and not variable speed, just on or off. This rotary tool is variable speed and the kit comes with lots of accessories. The storage box keeps everything organized so you can find what you need quickly. I really like the different size collets that can be used for various drill bits. The first project I used this rotary tool on was to drill small holes into stained wooden knobs so they could be attached to 1" diameter wafer cutters. The flexible shaft worked perfectly and I was able to accomplish the work with no misses or mistakes. Excellent price and I was able to bundle this purchase with an additional accessory kit.

A disappointment! WEN honored warranty
By William in Norlina on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2024
I made the mistake of not using tool within the return period. Within the first seconds of use, a cutoff disc shattered. Yes, I was wearing glasses! Then two more broke immediately. I can tell you right off the bat that the cutoff wheels are junk. Anyway, I inserted a few different bits, all with the same wobble type issue. Turns out that the collets are way too loose where they insert into the tool. Be sure to take a photo of the SN immediately! I picked up the tool after reading the SN for a warranty claim. The SN had wiped right off. Update July 8th, 2024: I had filed a claim on the 21st. later, in a separate email, requested a copy of my claim so I'd have a record of the SN. In that same email I included the following info: "I measured the motor shaft ID where the collet inserts. It was 0.197". The collet OD average was 0.188" (.188, .187, .189). Way too much play. That's a hundredth in about 1/2" length which translates to something like 0.02" wobble." That would extrapolate to about 1/4" play in the blade of a 7-1/4" circular saw. The reply email said I'd be contacted in 1 to 5 days. I sent a reminder on the 28th that I still had not been contacted. I sent another reminder today, July 8th. Still waiting. July 18th: WEN has shipped a replacement tool. Now searching for collets that fit. I have since purchased a 1970s vintage Dremel. Works great. New brushes were available from Dremel. Update 3: January 21, 2025. I had received the replacement tool from WEN shortly after my last update. Same problem. WEN was supportive in every way possible. Rather than sending a 2nd replacement, they gave me a credit toward a different tool. Sometime later, I received 5mm collets ordered from China (about $2). They improved the performance of the rotary tool, but it was still inferior to the old Dremel I purchased. Overall summary: Pay the extra expense for a Dremel brand rotary tool. WEN offers an excellent replacement warranty service. That's worth remembering if you're deciding on two similar tools. I did locate very inexpensive 5mm collets from China. They helped
