Cuisinart Juice Extractor CJE-1000
By RoadRunner on Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2016
It is very good unit for juicing carrots, apples and similar harder veggies. We used it today (03/15/2016) for large amount of carrot juice (over one gallon, with breaks every liter and to empty pulp container) and it came out with minimum foam, good consistency and reasonably dry pulp. Position of the chute is good, no leaks, no splatter, no mess, regardless it is 1000 watts on highest speed. Unit’s cutting basket has very minimal vibrations which disappear more of less at normal speed and there is floating mechanism added to electric motor that works out the vibrations quite nicely. Well, after all it is a centrifugal juicer not a satellite guiding system, therefore little thing like this is expected and not bothersome. Locking mechanism on this juicer is very well designed, and base is actually made from magnesium like casting, which makes it bottom heavy and quite sturdy. The opening on top is large, so I would be very careful and never leave this unit unattended if one has little child of the kind that can get into trouble in split second.. Granted this is not a grinder, but I feel compelled to mention this - we all should know that little kids, active cell phones, laud TV’s and tired parents when all on can become potentially harmful combination. The noise level of this unit on high is about as loud as big blow-dryer on high. You will not need ear protection. Noise is not high-pitched or annoying. This is definite plus at least for me. Anyways, this is excellent juicer, and not just for the money. I was considering purchase of another 2 brands with similar specs but it either had only 2 speeds, or was much more money, and eventual parts availability from Cuisinart when needed appeared to be much more logical choice. You still need to cut stems of carrots, wash them and take time not to force them to hard yet they go in few at the time and juice comes out quickly, like water from the faucet. Apples should have seeds removed – not because this juicer will not take it but because ingredients in apple seeds. Lemons and oranges should be peeled unless one wants to consume all those antifungal sprays that are sprayed on many citrus prior to storage. Even DIY home grown organic peel with no chemicals will spoil the taste just because citrus oil in peels is too strong for consumption in quantities – this is why some supermarket citrus juices have this wonderful smell combined with some bitter aftertaste. Citrus oil is good to flavour cakes and treat pimples, but not for drinking. Celery will juice just fine, but for greens I use one of those slow juicers, the vertical version. The celery, raspberry, strawberry and things like kiwi come out better on slow juicers. It appears that “one size fits all” idea is only good for T-shirts, so considering one can get slow masticating juicers for much less then they used to cost there is no reason not to have one as well, so you can make nectar out of spinach and celery – it does taste weird but it is quite nutrition. The cleaning of this CJE-1000 is easy and fast as there are no nooks and hidden compartments like some juicers have. Shell of the units top is made of high impact ABS, it is very well made and fits perfectly. Cuisinart did excellent job in design how the parts fit – if it is not correctly assembled it will not start. Also, the motor has automatic thermal reset fuse, not like some major and expensive brand which I used to have and will never touch again for that very reason. One day you will overheat the juicer and I you do not have auto thermal reset, you will be shipping it for repairs. Not with this juicer. ThankYou Cuisinart !!!. Did I mention 5 speed? Yes, you may need it, maybe not all the time but it always nice thing to have more choices and practical controls. OK, time to go now, will drink more of that perfect juice, and then make carrot cake from some of the pulp, and the rest of pulp goes to the chickens and wild birds. I hope this juicer will last for some time, then if it quits one day I will most likely buy another, hoping that by that time Cuisinart is still making quality kitchen gadgets at affordable price. This one allows me to have quick, healthy, natural and nutritious juice. No high fructose corn syrup but I have to admit I keep the quart of the stuff under the sink – it is excellent added to water to keep x-mass trees fresher longer although I was always wondering how that works. LOL BTW, I purchased this juicer directly from Amazon warehouse – they had best price and I trust them most.

By Anna on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2025
It works but what doesnt provide what i bought it for. The pulp after the extracting is very wet....i was using fruits and veggies. I noticed when it grinds and if it is apple or lemmon and it is a small part left....the spinner will just throw that small piece to the leftover pile. Would i buy again .... nope.

I just received the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juicer about two days ago but had to go out and buy some fresh veggies to juice before I could try it out. Today, I'm happy to say that it works like a dream ... not like the refurbished (same brand and model) one I received last week from another store. On that one, #5 on the speed dial didn't work, the pulp ended up backing up and not going into the pulp bin, and the motor made a funny noise when turning off; on further inspection, some of the parts looked a little beat up, too. Still, it was pretty quiet when juicing, but I knew I had to return it. So, I immediately went online and bought a brand new Cuisinart from Amazon (what I should have done in the first place). lol I'm so glad I moved as quickly as I did. It didn't take me too long to finally realized that I didn't need to start off with refurbished ... what was someone elses juicing nightmare/headache and end up going down hill from there and having to return the juicer multiple times for repair (and be without fresh juice). The only good thing I got out of buying the refurbished juicer for less money was that it showed me what a great juicer the Cuisinart could be (if everything worked correctly, that is) ... was totally sold on the potential! The multiple speeds, large juice pitcher, and extremely quiet motor (except when turning off) helped to sway me. This new Cuisinart is very quiet, too (unheard of, I know), and the pulp is pretty dry when not juicing something like tomatoes (just had to try that), but I can use my NutriBullet for things like that and not end up losing part of them to pulp. As the Nutribullet is also very powerful and liquifies quite well (except for things like beets and carrots, etc), I'll probably, sometimes, end up liquifying things like tomatoes, kale, spinach, and softer fruits in the Nutribullet so I can get the benefit of the whole veggie/fruit. At any rate, I love being able to change the speed on the Cuisinart to fit what I'm juicing. Cleanup is fairly easy with the Cuinsinart, too. I've seen much worse, in particular the old Hamilton Beach juicer I used to have (talk about a nightmare!). It juiced great, but cleanup was very time consuming and difficult. Also, I love size of the Cuisinart juice pitcher and the 3" feed tube but find that for small, hard beets it's still better to cut them in thirds or quarters, but I can feed 3-5 carrots at a time without a problem. I also juiced half a lemon with the peel on. I'm going to start looking for receipes where I can use the pulp from this machine ... maybe some veggie soup and bread ideas. Since I'm vegetarian anyway, I don't care much for the idea of tossing perfectly good pulp/peels with their additional fiber and nutrients ... not very often anyway. lol I'm just so glad I bought this juicer and hope it lasts for a lot of years. Just in case, I did buy the additional Square Trade 3-year warranty, as I believe it covers things the "limited" warranty doesn't cover. Also, with use, if I find this machine to be lacking in any way, i'll do an updated review ... or, even a review to just say how great it continues to be! Darn ... on rereading my review, it seems a bit biased, but, honestly, I'm just so excited about this juicer! It seems to have everything I wanted it in a juicer (doesn't have auto cleanup, tho ... now THAT would be nice. :) Happy juicing!

After a few friends have sold me on how great juicing is, I decided to get a good juicer. I narrowed my price range to the ~$150 range. I was intrigued by the Breville models, who have a good reputation. However, after reading the reviews and features of the Cuisinart model, I decided to go with that. It had the two features I wanted (< 800 watt motor, multiple speeds) at a great price. I've had several Cuisinart products in the past including the Duet Blender, mini food processor and a pot/pan set. All of these products have served me well and this Juice Extractor is no different. Being new to juicing, I've gotten tips from friends on what fruit/veggie combos to use. It was important to have multiple speeds on the juicer to more efficiently juice the various types of produce. The Cuisinart makes it simple to change speeds and the instruction/recipe booklet has proven to be a great source of information on what speeds to use for different types of produce. The motor is quite powerful (1000 watts) but at the same time is fairly quiet. Juicing is easy; I don't have to put a lot of force when juicing things like carrots and apples. The softer produce (mango, kale) is even easier, even at the lower speed settings. Assembly of the unit is very easy. Cleaning is going to be a chore no matter what type of juicer you use (according to my friends) but this Cuisinart doesn't seem to be that difficult. I've use both the dishwasher (top rack only) and hand washed each piece and it wasn't bad. The straining basket requires that you use the included brush (very helpful) but even that isn't very time consuming. Kudos to the tips to line the pulp collector with a plastic bag; a real time saver. Two really great features I like are the adjustable juice spout (several settings from completely off to fully on, which helps prevent spills) and the foam reducer on the juice container (siphons off the foam while you pour). I also enjoy the look of the product; the stainless steel accents my other appliances and is easy to clean. If you are new to juicing and don't want to spend a whole lot of money, I recommend this juicer. With a three year warranty and a good reputation that is Cuisinart, I'm more than happy with my purchase.

This my first juicer and I searched all over the Internet for one. Not knowing if this was going to be a passing phase of become an everyday lifestyle change, I decided to buy one around $100.00, juice it to death and buy a more expensive one when the time came. I've been making smoothies forever with a Nutribullet using greens, but wanted to get into juicing. As with most everyone, I watched the movie "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" by Joe Cross. I don't need to lose weight, am already Vegan, just wanted to go the extra mile. I chose this model and couldn't be happier. It's easy to put together, easy to clean, big, and my pulp is dry! I have tried putting my pulp through a second time just to see if anything else would come through, but maybe only a dribble - not worth the trouble. I LOVE the dial and if you READ the instructions, you'll see that different fruits and veggies require different settings to get the most juice. A cucumber uses #1, oranges #2, carrots, apples #5. At first I wanted to crank it up to #5 and put them all through - don't do this. I was and cut up all my ingredients first. I set the dial and put the fruits and veggies in according to the settings. I get the best juice ever. I usually make two 32oz juices per day, Joe's Mean Green as my morning juice. The filter basket is hard for me to get off, but easy for me to clean. I clean the outside with a different, larger kitchen brush, rinse that side, then brush the inside of the filter basked with soap, rinse and it's perfectly clean. All other pieces are so easy to rinse and clean. Do not scrub the plastic as you will scratch it. The machine is loud, but that doesn't bother me one bit. The Cuisinart CJE-1000 is heavy duty, won't operate without the clasp on, so easy to use, looks great on my counter, affordable and a fantastic choice. The feeding tube is huge and you won't believe how many whole apples, oranges, cucumbers will go right in. This purchase has not made this a passing phase, but a daily addition to an already healthy lifestyle. I'm 62 and going strong!

If you are looking for a juicer, this is it. I grew up on the juicing before it was popular. My mom used the old yellow tank haha. Please ignore the negative reviews. I wish they would bring back Home-ec in schools because this juicer is so easy to clean. I recommend placing a plastic bag in the dispenser to catch all the fiber, peels etc. If you bake, you can use a 2-3 gallon Ziplock to catch the shreds. After juicing, I simply wash the parts in the sink. The screen can be gently scrubbed with the brush that comes with the juicer. Be sure to get in the nooks and crannies, because that flo-green tint that may be left over... is not oil. or grease from the juicer... it is from your produce. This thing will not jump off the counter, it does have some power and like any motorized machine will move on start up. You can simply take a damp paper towel, or washcloth and wipe your counter-top and place the juicer down... It has suction cups on the bottom, just give it a little wiggle and gentle press against the counter and Wa-La No Jumping Juicer! Please stop trying to juice wheat grass, spinach and other non-juicy produce... save these for your blender!! One more thing this juicer is quieter than my blender, my ninja and my vacuum!! So there you have it: Easy to use, Safe to use, Easy to clean, AND MAKE LESS NOISE THAN MY BLENDER.

let talk about this JUICER If you are looking to get healthy or just to incorporate juice into your daily life i would say take the plunge and get this juicer. Firstly when i open the package the juicer was nicely package no breakage and that is always a plus when buying such expensive electronic. secondly it was very and i mean very easy to assemble but if you get into any trouble putting it together the instruction is very helpful. Now lets get to how good this work at juicing your fruits and vegetable, let me just say its awesome at juicing your fruits and vegetable. Your juice comes out very smooth and yummy and tasty yammy too, I personally buy organic fruits and vegetable so its just that more yammy. I will advise you if you can afford to get organic fruits and vegetable then get it i am telling you this juicer is powerful it give you a very very smooth juice and it taste awesome. I have a nutribullet that i have been using for years now, but honestly since i purchase this which is two weeks now this is all i have been using and i think this will be replacing my nutribullet for the future. CONS: The only problem for me personally is cleaning it, this juicer have quite a few parts so it will take about 5 min to wash it so if your are someone who don't have the time to stand and wash something for 5 min then i will tell not to get it, but come on for the money and the result i don't mind it. It for my health and body so why not, what i usually do is juice in the morning and don't wash it, i will just empty the bin with all the mess and put it back because i know i will juice for lunch and dinner. After dinner i will take the juicer apart and give it a good wash and and i am good to go for the next day. So that is something to keep in mine if you are looking to buy a good juicer that will do the job.
Great Product!
