Excellent; better than expected
By Phade on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2012
We've used many different brands of nonstick pans. We noticed these were on sale for an excellent price and thought we'd give it a try... and were very nice surprised. The quality is top notch -- construction of the pan, handle and the coating. We were excited to buy an American made product and hope more people discover these wonderful nonstick pans. We bought several different sizes, both pans and skillets, and they're all high quality... we would buy them again at the full price. Pros High quality product- coating, pan & handle are all very well made Nonstick coating functions very well Attractive; nice weight to them American made!!! Cons cannot think of any

Eggs fuse to "stick" pan
By Merle on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2010
The pan seemed well-made. It comes with elaborate instructions, e.g., "don't cook on higher than medium" and "don't use non-stick sprays," which we are following (to the extent we can remember them all), but still certain foods stick, like scrambled eggs -- the main thing most people buy a pan like this to cook, I'm guessing. We're still working on how to use this best, but do like that it is supposedly better for our family. The stuck on eggs come off ok if you are gentle about it. But people expecting a perfect non-stick experience may be disappointed. Updating this, this pan should only be purchased by people who don't cook eggs for breakfast, and who like to spend a lot of time cleaning and trying to safely scrape pans with soft implements. I was given a circulon pan by a sympathetic family member who didn't want to see me hit somebody with this pan in a fit of rage. The circulon pan, also with care instructions, works beautifully.

Good but doesn't last.

Wonderful skillet that I hope is as safe as it states. Does not last more than a year which is why I didn't give it more stars.
Like it

Just received it couple days ago and like it. The pan is sturdy, well made and made in USA (YES, finally!). I'm not American but fade up with China made which most of the time end up with disappointment. I can't stand the fume or toxic smell they produce either clothes or just simple thing like toys. I'm so happy I bought the pan as it produce nice food and knowing it is PFOA free. My 1st trial was toasted bread after I wash and seasoned the pan for the 1st time as suggested. My tuna sandwich taste better than ever with your pan. Thank you American Kitchen, definitely will buy another item from you. PS: I will give you 5 stars if you produce dual PTFE and PFOA free nonstick item. Updated April 2012: Thank you Amazon for bring back this pan. Just bought 8 inch and still surprise how I love the pan from American Kitchen. I use 8 inch for eggs, bacon (my hubby doesn't like microwaved bacon, OMG! LOL), Indonesian chili paste and even crepes. I'm so happy to find out this line complement my All-Clad sets. I have 3 quarts pot with lid from All-Clad. The lid able to cover the 8 inch from American Kitchen/Regal ware. My 10 inch still going strong and use it every day for many recipes. From Indonesian banana fritters, Japanese tempura up to beef steak as the Nordicware we bought same time as this 10 inch already ruined couple weeks ago. 8 & 10 inch pans are working good on the gas burner we have stationed outside USA. I wish the 12 inch model has helper handle as I notice that this pan is quite heavy (for me, a lady who 100 pounds less or more and petite hands) and spout for easy pouring. I wish they sell nonstick pfoa free (improved with ptfe free) saucier as well or 3 - 4 qt pot with handle, helper and spout and nonstick pfoa/ptfe free grill pan. They will be on my Christmas list if Regal ware sell them.

we are really gung-ho for American made products & this treasure is not only made in USA but it is a top quality pan. It is easy to clean & use (not too heavy, not too light), the size is perfect for almost anything & the handle is just the right fit. It cooks evenly and the non-stick coating appears to be of very good quality. We're thinking of buying another just like it!
UNSAFE -- AVOID THIS PAN
By Liam - Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2011
While the pan may be PFOA-free, this pan is NOT PTFE-free. It contains PolyTetraFluoroEthylene, a known toxic substance that can breakdown at high temperatures. The PFOA material that this pan is free of is an acid but that doesn't make this a green pan and it is rather disingenuous for this pan company to play up their PFOA-free material against people's fears when in fact they use PTFE. If this pan were PTFE-free then why wouldn't they mention that in their headline marketing, especially since PTFE is the substance that the EPA has warned about in household pans. Contrary to their claims, the metal handle is stainless steel which does heat up in the oven and can burn your hands, unlike silicon and bakelight handles that resist heat. Avoid this pan.
Just OK, Not a heavy Multi-Clad type pan

This pan looks nice and the non-stick coating is great. The disc on the bottom is deceiving. It does not heat slow and even, but very fast like a cheap thin aluminum pan. If you are used to high quality All-Clad type pans that heat slowly and evenly, be careful because you will burn your food. Even the Cuisinart Multi-Clad is better.
Nice Pan...... BUT!!

I've been wanting an American made 12" non-stick frying pan and read all the reviews for same and decided to purchase the "12 inch" American Kitchen non-stick fry pan. This pan is NOT 12 inches wide........ the top of it is 11 inches wide; therefore, none of my 12 inch lids fit on it EXCEPT for one glass lid that has a wide rim and the rim will sit on the TOP edge of the frying pan and prevent condensation from going down the side of the pan to the stove top. NEXT...... I'm NOT getting any younger and in order for me to LIFT this pan, especially with food in it, I have to put my thumb on the end of the "Y" and my palm around the handle (so my hand is close to the pan)...... and then with a potholder balance the other side while carrying it to the table or to the counter.... THIS PAN IS HEAVY!! Great for cooking, but not balanced well for a women's hand and arm strength...... THAT'S MY OPINION.......... Sorry if it's not yours!! I have used it, liked the way it cooked, but since I'm used to a TRUE 12 inch pan....... and usually cook the same portion sizes, it's a tight fit. Other than that, it cooked well following the given instructions to "season" the pan.... and I hope to have it for many years and that the non-stick cooking surface holds up. Thanks for reading my comments and ~ Have a GREAT day!! ChristineAmerican Kitchen Non-PFOA Stainless Steel Nonstick 12-Inch Open Skillet

I should have listened to a priminent cooking show on PBS which states tto buy an inexpensive nom -stick pan and when the non - stick gets scratcrsc (especially)and discoloration and throw away, get a cheap $30 pan and do the same when in the same condition. Non - stick pans just haven't been perfected and are dangerous when the surface has been compromised. Save your money and protect your health!

I own 2 of these skillets, and just purchased two for my parents. I have used mine for about 6 years now, with absolutely no problems. The non-stick coating is durable, and isn't flaking off like the cheap imports from the superstores. These are made in USA, and the high quality absolutely shows. They're easy to wash, heat evenly and quickly, and are just a pleasure to use. Be careful, though, as you shouldn't use non-stick cooking sprays on these skillets. The sprays leave a residue that interferes with the non-stick qualities of the coating. If you want, just use a drop of canola or vegetable oil, but no sprays. Thank you American Kitchen and Amazon!
