Nice amp
By ROB on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2020
The power is nice I have two BSR 15" house speakers and the sound it puts out is nice , nice bass , sound is clear and the speakers punch. The only problems are theirs no volume indicator on how high it is till the sound starts playing and another problem you might have like I did was really bad humming and buzzing from the speaker once you hook up your preamp or tuner/ bluetooth ect. It hummed like crazy cause...... Ground loop I had to take off the ground prong on my tuner or you can buy the adapter but same thing. Fixed the horrible buzz and sounds great. So if you get it and its buzzing it's not the amp it's a your setup most common is the 3rd prong ground, the amp is not garbage like people say they just don't know what they're doing this isn't always the problem but the most common on speaker buzzing.

Not bad, just understand what you're getting

First off, anyone buying Pyle amps needs to know that they grossly overrate the wattage. And I mean GROSSLY. This amp is sold as a 3000 watt unit; in reality it's 150 watts per channel at 8 ohms. OK, I knew that going in, so no surprise here. I'm only posting this so other buyers will have realistic expectations. This is cheap equipment, not high-end stuff. But, sometimes there's a place for that. Now...the amp actually sounds pretty good. The power that it does have is pretty clean. I'm satisfied on that front. But the unit does have some quirks. The volume control is digital and it raises the volume in steps instead of gradually. It's very touchy and sometimes the jumps are pretty significant. I found myself wanting sound levels in-between two of the settings. This is pretty annoying, and I will probably end up just using the unit as an amp only by feeding it with a small mixer board I have. The remote has the same issue. When you turn the unit on it always starts in the TAPE input instead of remembering which input you were using. I started out using the AUX input, but I changed to the TAPE input so I wouldn't have to select my input every time I turned it on. Not the end of the world, but annoying. No way I'd use this amp in my living room. But it seems to do fine in my application, a workshop where I play it loud. I drive a couple of large bookshelf speakers with a powered sub and it rocks pretty well for this. Time will tell as to the reliability, Pyle's reputation there is not the best. I will try and remember to report back down the road aways. In summery....not bad, probably worth the price. Just know what you are buying so you'll understand what this is and isn't. I would have given it 4 stars if not for the ridiculous volume control. Pyle really should fix that, it would be a fairly nice amp if the volume control was more precise. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update - After a few months, the amp is still working, but I have retired it to back-up duty in lieu of a Bheringer amp I bought. It's not that this amp sounds bad; it's actually pretty decent. But the Bheringer was a better fit for my particular application. I still say that if not for the horrid volume control, the amp would rate 4 stars. It sounds good and it produces decent power (not anywhere near it's rating, but plenty to drive most home speakers as hard as they can handle); but the volume control with the wide steps is just awful. Still...if you need a cheap and fairly powerful amp to drive some speakers loud, this is a good deal. Good listening!
