Lasko 2004W Clip Fan, 6", 2004W

I bought this fan to ventilate the bathroom because I was doing a hair treatment that creates fumes. It's a small bathroom and I needed a small fan without a stand that I could clip to hardware of some sort. I ended up clipping it to the light fixture above the vanity mirror, and I was able to direct the air flow directly toward me. The fan is very quiet and gave enough air flow to help get rid of the fumes. The fan does not give a strong air flow. I wouldn't count on it to cool you off in a heat wave, but I was happy that it suited my needs. I wasn't expecting a high powered fan. The clip on the fan is very sturdy. The fan itself is made from lightweight plastic. At first I thought it was cheap looking but I think if you're hanging a fan, the blade housing shouldn't be too heavy, so I think the quality is fine. I would recommend this fan for light ventilation needs.

I needed a fan that I can attach to my elliptical to keep cool while working out. I chose this one because of it's full plastic frame making it a light weight choice for the console. Although I have an exceptionally stable elliptical, any mild shaking would make a heavy appliance more likely to fall, so plastic was the obvious choice. As a fan it, works surprisingly well at cooling even from a good 6 feet away. The only problem I have with it is a rattle, especially at the higher speed. It's not very loud but noticeable enough to be annoying. The clamp is very effective at clamping on to most surfaces since it has a very grippy rubber. I had to modify it a little bit with some velcroe since it had a tendency to slide a bit on the display console. It also has an up/down adjustment that holds very well. Because of the rattle, I am returning this fan for a replacement in hopes that the new one will not have the same rattle for it's the only small plastic fan I could find on Amazon at a decent price and it works well. Lets see what happens. 6-5-13 Received replacement. Now it's very quiet and perfect for my elliptical workout. Raising it to 5 stars. Very light weight, quiet and easy to install. Pretty good fan.

This is a good fan. I have two of them which I use at home and work to get extra air movement. At a range of ten feet it's powerful enough to produce an easily-felt breeze but quiet enough that I can sleep with it. It's not quite balanced well enough to avoid mechanical hum, unfortunately, but this is not intended to be an extremely high-end fan. The clip on which the fan is based is fairly strong - don't clamp it on delicate objects - and you will have no trouble hanging the fan in pretty much any position and orientation you want, as long as there's a solid object to which to clamp it. The clamp opens up to 5 or 6 cm across.

My child has a loft bed and was just too hot up there by the ceiling. We purchased this trusted Lasko brand clip on fan and it is working perfectly for our needs. It is quiet yet powerful.

Great personal fan to have close by in the middle of the night! If you know, you know!

I bought this to clip just inside the gasket of my front-loading washing machine. After struggling with severe health effects from toxic mold, I discovered that yet again I was finding mold in my life in the gasket of my brand new washer, despite never closing the door except when in use and trying to be good about wiping down moisture after use. In any event, I paid a fortune to have the gasket replaced and knew I needed a solution to keep the washer even more dry between uses. There is a product out there that is a fan that attaches to the washer specifically for this purpose. But it costs a fortune, especially since it's literally just a tiny fan! So I searched for alternatives and decided on this. I clip it to the gasket after finishing a load of laundry, and I also take out the detergent drawer to increase air flow through the machine. It works beautifully! The gasket now stays dry as a bone and no more health-destroying mold!

Nice fan to get air moving,clip is strong but little on cheap side

This little fan came quickly and it works great! I like the clip which allows you to clip it to anything--I have it on the side wall of my cubicle. There is also a hole at the base so you can hang it on a tack or nail if you couldn't clip it. It is VERY quiet, which is nice since I'm using it in the office where I can't have a loud fan during phone calls. There are two speed settings, and even the first one gets a decent amount of air flow going. I only wish there were maybe a third setting that was even better at cooling you down, even if it was a bit louder. But I'm not really complaining because I already love this thing! Wish I had ordered it earlier in the summer because I'm always hot at my desk and they don't turn the AC up enough in here sometimes.

We buy these fans for clipping to our families sleeping spaces. They are great little fans, 2 speeds that give a nice breeze, a bit of white noise. We use them often, most nights and have to replace them about 1x a year for everyone. So they are not long lasting which is a bummer and the reason for loosing stars. But while they work they work great, and the size is perfect to clip to a headboard or shelf. The spring clamp that holds it on is sturdy, we have never had it fail. The fan can be angled and manipulated to pretty much any direction you could ever need.

I use this all day every day. I turned it on when it first arrived a month ago and have never turned it off since. It's quiet, and keeps me cool. I purchased it because I sit next to a window and sometimes it gets a bit warm. Note that the clamp jaws aren't super wide. The base to my desk is very thick, almost similar in thickness to the 2" side of a 2x4 board. This barely fits the desk and always looks like it's in danger of falling off (hasn't yet). It definitely would *not* have fit the 4" side of a 2x4 board. Also, it's a bit too heavy to clamp to my monitor without making the monitor lean. Overall I've been happy with it, and it hasn't fallen off the edge of my desk. I'm just very careful not to bump it or anything. The jaws have little rubber 'teeth' that help keep a grip, but ya never know.
