Good bag, good price. Lightweight and good quality.

Ok this is nice. The picture doesn't do this sleeping bag justice, and the price is good. Sleeping temperatures: - i tried this bag at 20C (70F or so..) and its too warm. unless used as quilt - i tried at 10C (50F) and its perfect. I would go to the 7C comfort temp with a layer or so underneath. No doubt that with good layers you can sleep with it at 2C and not freeze. That said, between 7 and 12C seems to be the sweet spot (just as indicated really..) in sleeping bag mode, up to nearly 20 with some ventilation Pros: - light and small. Its not much bigger or heavier than my inflatable pillow... - mosquito net: works, easy to close above your face. easy to tuck in if you don't want to use it, doesnt get in the way - comfy, roomy. im 5"11 (1.80m) and fit, there's plenty of extra room. You'd have to be pretty big to start feeling tight in there. - easy to fold back in the compression pack. this is often a pain. not this time. air doesnt get trapped in the bag when you fold it which goes a long way to fitting it in the compression pack easily... - converts into a quilt in a second, and works very well in quilt mode. For some reason, quilt-only "bags" cost 2x the price and cant be used as a sleeping bag.. this one does it all, and does it well. its a no nonsense system. - materials appears to be of good quality Cons: - zippers could have more isolation I guess. But for the temperatures this is made for, not a real issue.

Temp rating is a lie, wish I could exchange or return.

Let me start off by saying that I bought this bag 3 years ago and I've used it for many camp outs during the summer months here in Nebraska. If you're camping in the summer it will do just fine but If you're camping in cooler temperatures like anything below 50 .............I'd leave it at home. I'm a bit confused on the temp rating of this bag as on their actual website, they rate this bag at 45 degrees Fahrenheit but here on amazon, they rate it all the way down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. That's quite a difference in temp ratings when your talking about staying warm. I bought this bag here on amazon so I'm gonna say that they advertised my bag as being rated for 30 degrees Fahrenheit. All my camp outs were during warm weather months to where it was 55 - 60 degrees at night (Nebraska) so I really didn't have a chance to test the temp ratings up until this last weekend. We went on a boy scout camp out and the temp was to be down in the lower 40's so decided to take this bag and a new sleeping bag liner I bought. The liner was supposed to add 25 degrees to the bags temp rating taking it down to 20 degrees if your going off the 45 degree rating on their website or down to 5 degrees if your going off the advertised 30 degree rating here on amazon. The temp only got down to 43 so either way, I SHOULD have been more than warm enough during the night. Not only did the sleeping bag liner fail but the sleeping bag also failed MISERABLY. I ended up getting up at 4 AM and had to start a fire to warm up because I was so cold. DO NOT TRUST THE TEMP RATING ON THIS SLEEPING BAG! These bags are ok for summer months camping but useless for anything but that. If I could return these bags for something better..........I would. I'm not happy with these bags at all.
