Pyle 3" 100W Mini Cube Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

These are the best speakers I've ownedI bought these a couple a days ago and I must say these speakers were incredible. They sounded amazing for a pair of $24.00 speakers they really work well with my Satellite digital receiver and my Blu Ray player when connected to my Sony amplifier. I was so blown away at how awesome the movies sounded through these speakers. I totally recommend these speakers and you can't beat the price. They really do sound good I gotta tell ya I was complete satisfied with them. I could not be happier with them They sounded way better than my old Durabrand Satellite speakers.

It has no way of mounting it, even with a universal mounting kit. I have heard that it is a great sounding speaker, considering the price, I suppose. But since it cannot be mounted, I hate it...plus Pyle has failed to contact me back.

I bought a pair of black ones and was very pleased. They sounded great and could handle a lot of power.I decided to buy a pair of white ones and pair them with the black ones to complete the rear and suround portion of my home theater. Well the white ones wern't anywhere near the sound quality of the black ones!!! Same speaker, different color, WHAT????? Well after trying a couple of things I noticed the white ones had thin cracks all over them and they would rattle if you turned them up. Also one of them was louder than the other.Well, I got burned on this one. By the time I went to use them and figured out some one had dropped them several times and over powered one of them, then returned them to Amazon, it was past the return limit and Amazon would not take them back. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY RE-SOLD THEM TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I always trusted Amazon. BUYER BEWARE

This pair of small speakers pack a punch if you consider the size, I was surprised about the weight the magnets on this speakers are on the heavy side.The bad: One speaker arrived broken and with fingerprints, so I'll assume this was a return, shame on Amazon, the item was advertised as new.The front panel fell off as soon as i pulled it out of the bubble wrap.The loopy thing on the back which some reviewers write about is completely useless, couldn't use it to attach the speakers properly to anything. The loop has a spring that keeps snapping the thing back if you don't pay attention, I almost dropped the unit so I guess that covers the part why it arrived broken already.The good:Since the front panel came off, I had the opportunity to inspect the interior and the speaker unit is pretty decent with a hefty magnet so this is good.I liked the sound so much i decided to keep the speakers and I repaired the broken one with super glue. Good as new.Tested with a Sony amplifier and the output is pretty decent. The specs say 90-18000 MHZ. I feel the specs are a bit conservative: The hi frequencies have enough air and the low frequencies are decent for the size.I needed this units to spread a stereo image from behind a large sofa, I couldn't be happier.Keep this in mind: This speakers are great at a close range, the cones are very small so don't expect them to push sound very far.

So I received three pairs of these. Here's why.#1. For the price I figured what the heck I should try these out. I received my first pair and tested them out. I only needed 1 speaker for where I was planning to put it. That speaker sounded great. For the money I was very pleased. But then I tried the second speaker and noticed a serious reduction in sound volume and quality. I didn't worry about it since I only needed the one speaker.#2 Then I decided I needed to replace my rear speakers in my home theater. So I ordered a second pair. When they arrived I was shocked to find two completely wrecked speaker boxes. Its like someone kicked them down a flight of stairs then tossed them on my doorstep. Both speakers were unusable. Amazon said they wouldn't take them back because they were considered hazardous materials. Fortunately amazon is awesome and they agreed to replace them for free.#3 My replacements arrived and finally I recieved 2 working speakers. Both sound great and I am currently using them as my rear home theater speakers.Since the first pair had only one working speaker I decided to open the non working one. When I did, I found the magnet had become detached which caused the reduction in volume and quality. I tried placing it back into position but it didn't sound any better. Since the box appeared to be intact, I took the speaker out of one of the shattered boxes and used that. It seemed to work pretty good.ConclusionSo all in all it looks like I got what I paid for but not without a little work. For the money I am still impressed with how these sound. I mean for $18 you can't do much better, plus I guess that's why I didn't lose much sleep over the busted ones I got. You take a chance with everything you buy online, which is why I feel most comfortable buying on Amazon, because of their willingness to assist their customers.So buy these if you are feeling lucky.

Sound great on my boat, nice and small to hide ,but big sound

I ordered these speakers to use as rear surround speakers bacause they were small. The first time I got them they were both broken in half and cracked. I figured it might just be a one time thing so I sent them back and waited for the replacements. They arrived pretty fast, but when I opened the box they were both broken and cracked again. Now three weeks later I am waithing for a refund. DO NOT order this product, Even if they weren't broken I still would have not been very happy with them. I know they were only 25 dollars but they looked like they would be worth a tenth of that . These speakers came from a third party vendor not from Amazon.com

I purchased these speakers to be used as my rear surround source because of their size and color. Although I order white, I ended up with a pair of black speakers. I decided to keep the speakers instead of going through the hassle of returning them.As far as the sound quality, when playing music, I found the sound to be quite tinty, not suitable for full range music, but they are decent enough for rear speaker sound effects from movies.For the price, I really can't complain, after all, they are mediocre speakers.If not for the mix up in color, I would have given the speakers a rating of 3 stars, but since I did not get what I ordered, I lowered my rating.

1.) Before returning, I did spend a few hours with them. You will probably have to forget wall/ceiling-mounting them in any way if that was your plan. There is a very tight spring-loaded, odd-shaped squarish ring which pulls out about a quarter inch which is next to useless. You'd have to buy a separate mounting arrangement and take the speaker apart and screw it on internally to wall or ceiling-mount it.2.) The speaker boxes are a fairly thin-walled plastic which bend slightly when you squeeze them. Although the driver is pretty good the box sounds awful. It has a distinct "AW" sound which is accentuated when placed on a surface like a counter or shelf. The enclosure vibrates at average levels.3.) 100 watts peak is claimed by Pyle for this, but I sure wouldn't try putting anything like 100 watts at 100 cycles through it. The driver has about a 1" coil, so think more like 15 watts 'continuous' at 'full-range' would be typical of 3" drivers like this.4.) The actual measurement of each of the speaker boxes is 3.6" x 3.6" x 4.6" deep. These are not cubes. Saying so makes them sound like they're smaller than they really are. In addition, the product's picture makes the boxes look much more shallow than reality. To be fair, Pyle isn't the only manufacturer claiming their mini speakers are 'cubes'.Overall, these are suitable to just get sound, being a little better than a "communications-quality" speaker. They will be better than many built-in TV speakers and could be recommended for this use.

These speakers have okay sound. Not the greatest but probably about as good as you can expect from cheap 3" speakers.They're also not as white as the pictures show. They're more of an off white except the mesh grill which is white. They also kind of fail at general quality control. Both of mine have cracks or dings on the face. When I went to see if the front would come off as well, I noticed one of them felt pretty loose so I opened it up and one of the standoffs was broken off and another's the screw just came through...I plan to keep them just because they are good enough for what I'm using them for but if they were any more expensive I would definitely return them. I also cannot recommend them unless you just need a pair of small speakers to fit somewhere that don't look terrible and sound okay. If you're actually looking for quality I'd recommend either paying more money or building your own.
