Great EDC without breaking the bank
By Perseus on Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2025
I own a few Leatherman multi's and Gerbers too. Each has their purpose. I like this one in particular as my EDC for when I need a little of everything but not heavily. When I need someone more like a heavy workhorse, then I grab my Leatherman supertool 300. Many will claim this Gerber Suspension NXT is not solid. It is. It is just not meant for torquing down on the pliers with a death grip like you can with a Leatherman. But it will certainly do its job for daily obstacles in life. The Scissors are awesome. The file is short but more affective than many comparable multitools in this pricepoint. The awl is more wide but still useful and strong. Blister packs are a breeze to open with this EDC. The pliers are great for standard use of assembly or disassembly of hardware. The Philips driver is very handy. The fact that everything locks is a huge plus. The ruler is short but still very useful if you are crafty in making it work for longer measurements. The can't complain about the weight. It's ideal for an EDC but the compromise in weight is why it is not as stout as a high end leatherman. It's nothing to due with quality but all to do with staying in a pricepoint for a more lighter everyday useful multitool. If this set let's you down, then you are a candidate for a heavy duty, more expensive, multitool. Oterhwise, the Suspension NXT is a clear winner in my pocket and respective wallet.

Watch out for the scissors!
By Manning Krull on Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2025
The way the scissors are designed for this multi-tool is dangerous for two reasons: 1. When you're ready to push the scissors back into the multi-tool, there's a risk that the scissors will bend a little at the hinge, and this places one of the blades right against where your fingers are pushing. I cut myself the first time I stowed this tool. 2. When closing the scissors into the multi-tool, if you're not very careful a small point of the scissors can remain sticking out, which can cut your hand, or your leg while the tool is in your pocket. And problem 1 can lead to problem 2; trying not to cut yourself while stowing the tool can cause you to not close the piece completely. Even knowing how it works now, one must be very careful when retracting or stowing the scissors. It's just a dangerous design. Why not design the scissors so the back of each blade faces out when the tool is being stowed? I'm going to just grind the blades down and never use the scissors.
