Feels sturdy, great bang for the buck

I provide technical support for broadway shows, we put together some serious mind boggling FX playback systems, 10s of thousands of watts amps/speaker and $250,000+ audio mixing consoles....that being said, I'm pleased with this wireless and wired PA system by Pyle. Wife needed a low cost PA for her volunteer group, some persons in the back of the room could't hear the person speaking in the front. This was in their budget. Told her the best for them was not to leave this upfront and blast people in the front row (it can blast loud enough if need be) but since it is wireless, leave it in the back of the room as a fill for those not close up front by the person talking. The people up front can hear spoken word fine, this unit fills the back of the room nicely ;o). Nice to have a wired mic with it also just in case batteries go bad on wireless. You can use both at same time, they have their own controls. Rear rejection on both mics is good, this way most sounds from other than the person speaking into mic do not get into mic. Also has an auxilary input for music (would be mono of course). Other than that...time will tell how it holds up to long term use.

Garbage (would like to give it 0 stars)

First unit came out of box with cracked (falling apart) microphone (which had corroded batteries loaded inside). It was obviously a returned system that shipped out as new. Not the best quality control for Amazon. Second unit seems new, but if you attach antenna, extend it all the way out, charge the speaker to full, you can't go more than three feet from the unit without losing wireless connection or having horrible static. Wired mic is fine, but I bought this for wireless. There is nothing around to cause interference as I'm experiencing. This is a poorly made piece of equipment. No instructions either, which would have been nice to have to explain some of the knob functions. And for what it is, it is really overpriced.

Doesn't work as advertised.

It suits our needs as a PA system. With the wireless mic, you can place the system in one area and make yourself heard a good distance away. There is also a wired mic. The size and weight make it easy to carry around and set up. This is what does not work correctly: The wireless mic has an ON setting and a red light to indicate it is on that setting. It will not stay lit. The red light may not hold a charge. After charging the battery, the red light turns to green to signify a full charge. But after about 10 minutes, the red light comes on. I don't know if the problem is the lighting does not work properly or the battery charge is not holding a charge. So far I have used it plugged in and have not needed to test the battery. This system works for a small venue.

For what I need it, it sounds great. I use it to practice singing in a little room in my house. I used it out in the open, at a church activity, and sound loud enough (we were about 40 people in a park). Everyone liked it. But I have to say that the sound isn't perfect. When I talk in it, sounds very good. When I use it to sing, my voice sounds kind of like if I had a stuffy nose. Both mics work very well. The cordless has good signal (I can go outside of my house without losing it). I haven't used the battery for 5 hours, but I used it for about 3 hours and worked excellent. You can sing while playing your soundtracks without distortion, even in high volume. To connect an MP3 player or laptop or CD player you'll need a 3.5mm male to 2 RCA male cable.
Great Value. It has been working well for our Rotary Club for months

I looked into various PA systems for our Rotary club. We have a great PA built into a lecturen. But it was too heavy to move easily and it did not have the capacity for a wireless microphone. Our club was conflicted about buying a new PA system, when many cost $1000 on up. I found the Pyle PWM-A600 and read the reviews. It looked good for our purposes and the price was amazing, under $130! I found some other systems and sent the information to my board. Our techies liked the Pyle PWM-A600, so we decided to try it. It worked perfectly for a room with about 60 people. Both mikes are shielded on the sides, so you have to speak right into the center of the mike about one inch away. Sometimes the amp buzzes a bit then goes away. I bought a lavaliere mike at Radio Shack for $50 and it works well with it. It been great so far for these 3 months. Great buy!I Love You Madly! I'm a Cubmaster for my son's Cub Scout pack. We have pack meetings in our school cafeteria, which means I have to be heard over the noise of several refridgerators and vending machines, not to mention the noise of 30+ cub scouts! I have a pretty soft voice, so by the end of our meetings, sometimes I was hoarse from yelling! The PA system was just what we needed. I've only used it once, but several parents commented how much easier it was to hear me, and I could talk in a normal voice. I like the fact that it has both corded and cordless microphones, because I can keep one, and the boys can use the other one to make presentations so they can be heard as well. My only minor complaint is with the cordless mike, you have to talk directly in the the end of the microphone for it to pick up - you can't just hold it close to your mouth. One day we may try to get a wireless lapel mike to make it more "hands-free", but for now, it works great.

I bought this for my daughters because they wanted a "Real Wireless Microphone" after shopping around and having sticker shock on real wireless microphones I took a chance this system would work. I was very impressed when I opened the box, the system was well packaged, and came with a carry case for the corded and cordless microphone. The unit is well built, easy to set up and use. I shocked at how good this system sounds at all volume levels. One reviewer was saying the volume was not loud enough? he must have been at a train station, this system is super loud, at 50% volume, I can hear it in every room of my 3,250 SQFT home, I can't think of where I would ever use it and need it any louder? Needless to say my daughters love their "Real Microphone"!
Absolute junk!

My original review was very good, but after only a few uses, each of which was very short, the unit completely failed. Now it just buzzes, unless I crank it up all the way and then I can faintly hear music, and deafening static. Very disappointed. DO NOT BUY!

This is an impressive little unit for the price. I have not had time to audition the PWM-A600 in an actual meeting situation but I like the features and size. It offers both a wired and wireless microphone, the latter must be held about an inch from your lips which limits the system from picking up any other sound other than the speaker's voice. Otherwise my only reservation is that it doesn't have a great deal of volume though it boasts 100-Watt total output. There doesn't appear to be an allowance for an additional speaker either, so I would not recommend the A600 for large rooms or audiences but fine for meetings of up to about 70 people or so.
Well made unit and light enough to carry easily

I do think it is not as loud as it could be but for a small room, say 20 x 30 feet, it should be OK. I mainly selected this one because of its wireless mike and relative light weight. It is downright cute! Just barebones simple but flexible. RCA jacks for input from a tape player on the back, can handle both mikes at once. Both included mikes work well, case is strong. I cannot find an explanation for the 9 vote battery plug on the back and no customer service number was provided so I will have to wonder about that. For a portable unit, battery operated, it is worth the price.
