Easy to set up!

Good and sturdy lockbox! I use this when I need to let workers into properties and don't want a bunch of keys floating around. This box is easy to set up, hide, and change the code when needed.

Workable, but with design flaws.
By AmazonReviewer on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2024
This lockbox is suitable for small keys and careful operators. The major design flaw is that it is very easy for the box to become un-openable. This can be mitigated by not including a keychain, i.e., literally only putting the keys, loose, in the box. With a small set of keys (security door, apartment door, keychain), is it very easy to get it stuck in a way where no amount of shaking will free up the unlock mechanism. Leaving loose keys should not be necessary and is not ideal. When leaving keys for my cat-sitter (who does this professionally), I want to leave the keys in the box with a memorable/identifiable keychain, so that they are not misplaced, confused, etc., and so that when I receive the keys back, the keychain "hashes" them such that I do not need to check if I was given back the correct key. In my case I left a cat-sitter my keys in the box with a small skull keychain. It was trivially easy for these to block/jam the unblock mechanism. The locksmith just left; the box is destroyed, but I got the keys back. To all that, I will add: the locksmith broke into this box and retrieved the keys in less than five minutes. In other words, a dedicated attacker will have no problem breaking into this box and stealing the key. One final complaint is that the metal on the spinners is pretty malleable. The numerals were easily scraped away after minimal use. 3 stars might be generous but in any case, I'll go with a different model for its replacement. I think the takeaway for me is to try and find one with a dedicated "inner box" where the movement of the unlock is physically isolated from the key compartment. When leaving your keys, and your security behind, this box is just one more thing to worry about. My meticulousness and awareness of the jamming issue may be the only reason my poor kitty's sitter was able to get in to see him!
