Very easy to install. Just install the base first on the ceiling with a couple of screws and then the detector fits right in on the base. When the battery gets low, it gives a warning beeping sound so I know when to change out the battery.

Item was good however the package was open, poor job of attempting to tape it back up. Was worried it was old and used. This was the 3rd one I have purchased in the last two months so I was surprised about the packaging
