It's been a great little power supply!

Bought this in 2018. I may have reviewed it right away. So this is an "After Six Years Of Use" review. I wanted to mount it in an ammo can, so I moved the fuse to the front, and moved the rectifier and heat sink to the side of the unit. Then I mounted it in an ammo can. I had to file off the top of the fuse holder and remove some plastic from the + and - connectors on the front panel; I had to do that in order to close the lid of the ammo can. I added various cords and connectors for a wide variety of applications. I paired it with a VHF/UHF radio in another ammo can (with a battery pack) for a great disaster prep radio combination! I've been using this setup as a VHF/UHF base station on top of my HF radio cabinet for 6 years. No complaints, no issues. It's been a fantastic little power supply, and I've even used it to power my Yaesu FT-817 HF transceiver on many occasions. Two Thumbs Up!

Not linear / regulated at all
By HS on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2023
I bought two of these a few years ago, one for my telescope and one for its dew heaters. With one of them the telescope would go totally berserk , so I always used that one for the dew heaters instead. The other one did work with the telescope, but sometimes it would randomly move very fast in one direction. I hadn't used the telescope for a few years, and previously always used a jump starter for power. I never had such issues before, and blamed it on the age of the telescope. It worked well in an automated setting back then (telescope, cameras all controlled by a computer), but that was clearly not possible anymore. Recently one of the telescope's motors started to randomly refuse to work completely. Suspecting a problem with the electronics of the telescope itself, I inspected it internally, cleaned all its internal connectors, but did not find any issues. Now suspecting a power issue, I bought a new regulated 12V power supply from scopestuff. And low and behold, the telescope is fine! No random behavior whatsoever anymore, and it works in the automated setting again! So, if you are looking for a regulated power supply for sensitive equipment, this is not it. The one I now have was even cheaper than this one.
