Edit: reduced stars because it’s now trash. Rusted on the top and starting to rust inside. This is not stainless steel. This is not dishwasher safe. I am just chucking it in the trash since I don’t think Amazon will take this back used. And only used twice now and the inside is starting to rust. And it rust-leaked out the lid handle. AVOID unless you just want shelf decor. Original review: Amazon rejected my first review of the product despite other reviews stating that this product is not dishwasher safe and it's unclear why. So 2nd attempt, more annoyed. The description says "Safe to use in dishwasher" and is absolutely not true. Or maybe technically it is since it's NOT like it exploded. Technically "safe" but this is not something you should put in the dishwasher. The lid collects and holds water. I wanted a dishwasher safe product and it was the primary reason I bought this particular ice bucket. Should have combed through the reviews instead of reading the description which appears to still not be changed.
