Rabbit 6-Piece Wine Opener Tool Kit

Great opener and very well made.

We wrecked two other wine openers trying to open the Moscato we bought (cork is fat end down) so I ordered the Rabbit. It worked great, although my hands are not very strong and I still have to sit down and get a grip on the opener from above (more leverage). I ordered the extra accessories because they were not much more than just the opener and I'm glad I did. Love the foil slicer. Very cool. The instructions were not real good on the box but I found them online.

I have had my wine Rabbit for over 10 years! My husband knew that I needed a quick and easy wine opener, so he purchased the Rabbit from ORVIS as a Christmas gift for me. I LOVE it! I was amazed how fast I could get a bottle of wine opened. This year I was at a party with a group of ladies from work~they could NOT get the wine cork off the bottle. They were using an "old school" opener. I lived up the street, so I went home to grab my opener and a couple extra bottles of wine! When I returned they were impressed when I arrived with my sidekick(Rabbit). I was able to salvage that bottle of wine, and the party was able to start! I knew that my co-wokers were in love with my Rabbit. I LOVE wine! I wanted my friends to be able to have the chance to get one of their own. I decided that the Metrokane 6010 Rabbit 6 Piece Wine Tool Kit(Black)would be a great gift! I invited a group of my favorite Gf's over for our 1st Wino's(Women in Need of....?)party. I asked them all to bring their favorite bottle/bottles of wine. The more bottles they brought the better! I've got the orginal Rabbit made of metal. This one made of cheap plastic not very sturdy. Do not recommend buying it.

You may need some upper body strength to use it properly.

The Rabbit wine opener works just as advertised, although it takes a little more muscle than I originally thought. And what a great conversation piece! The foil cutter makes opening a bottle that much easier. The drip guard, to my surprise, doesn't fall off the bottle into your glass when you pour out the last little bit, as long as you push it all the way down the neck as far as it can go. I haven't had occasion to use the wax remover. The only piece in this kit I don't really understand is the sealer, it hasn't fit on any bottle I've tried yet. But then, I haven't tried it on a bottle of champagne yet, so maybe it will fit for that. The kit comes in an attractive case that stands up, which makes it a great gift.

I purchased this wine opener set after my previous wine opener broke. I have always thought about getting a rabbit opener but was waiting for the one I got in college to break first. Well - since that finally occurred I am now wishing I bought this YEARS ago. This is so easy to use and opens the bottle in 2 seconds. This set was similar price to getting just the opener in a different color, so I went with the set. Planning on getting this set for some Christmas gifts coming up. Everyone should have a rabbit wine opener!

I have two rabbit type openers and my parents have one as well. I also have the Oster electric wine opener. The Oster is easy/nice but the grinding electric sound doesn't exactly project elegance when that is the need, you know what I mean. First, I feel I paid $20 more to have a wax remover (only wax remover I need is for my ears) and the dorky drip stopper/bib for wine bottles. Everybody I know knows enough to slow at the end of the pour and do a 1/4 spin on the bottle to prevent drips. The other items...come standard on all others, the foil cutter and extra screw. The 2nd thing is the handles are PAINTED PLASTIC. Horrible material to make a lever out of (you squeeze the handles to keep the bottle in place). Granted you can open the bottle without breaking the handles but I have to be concious about not applying too much pressure. I could easily snap the handles if I wanted to in a second. As it is now, I can feel the handles bend. The other two rabbit openers have metal handles and feel extremely solid and both cost less than $20. My gf did state that she likes this one better though because it's lighter than the other two but I look at it from an engineering/design/quality standpoint. The Pinzon Matte Chrome plated opener is the one to get, unless you want a $20 wax remover...

Cheap! Like really cheap. Edges are rough where plastic meets. The actual lever action is terrible, very wobbly. On the upside, it does what it’s advertised for doing.
