Gives your bread a beautiful crusty crust

My first loaf of sour dough bread this morning. It looks fab! Even though I seasoned it, I thought I’d use parchment the first time.. I popped my overnight refrigerated dough after scoring it in the clay pan and started in a cold oven. Put temp to 450 for 55 min, took the lid off and browned for another 10 minutes. I am very pleased. The pan seems quite durable and browns beautifully. I am very tickled and you will be too.

It is December and I purchased this in July. As of this moment I have probably used it 7-10 times to bake sourdough bread. I just pulled it out of the oven to have it crack. The depth of the clay is very thin. I was leery of its density when it first arrived and I should have listened to my gut and returned it, especially with the price point. But I ignored intuition because I have been searching for another clay pot to cook with and wanted an oblong baker to go with my round baker. Look elsewhere for a better made product.
