Very nice!

I've used the 5-gallon version of these on company trucks over the years. They're pretty much indestructible as far as I can tell but the 5-gallon version is way too heavy and bulky for my personal use. For carrying water for one or two people in a small vehicle this is a great setup. It's also a lot nicer on the back when lifting and moving around in a confined space since I won't be mounting this action on the side of my personal vehicle as we do with the 5-gallon versions on the company rigs. With plenty of ice and sitting outside uncovered in direct sun on the high plains, it'll keep water very cold to cool for probably 12-hours based on my use so far. The handle seems quite stout, lid seals securely, and the walls are nice and thick, probably comparable to the 5-gallon versions. The spout appears identical to the one used on the 5-gallon version as well, nice and strong, seals well. The only design flaw (flaw is a strong word, it's not really a flaw IMO) is condensation forms on the wall of the jug near the valve portion, I'm guessing due to thinner insulation in this area, causing you to think the spout is leaking when it's really not. I've decided it's not a big deal but was cause for concern at first when I'd pick it up and was convinced my precious water was leaking out of the jug. Overall, a very nice piece of kit for the money and something that will probably last for many years.

Good, but the top leaks due to a poor seal.

It's pretty much over priced for what it is. The lid (red part) is "ok" as it has a tendency to leak since it's just a pressure mounted lid. I would recommend to Igloo to either go with a screw top, or put a gasket inside there. The product will keep drinks and ice cold for hours. I used it this summer in Florida while at a flea market, and it worked great for that. Will it keep the drinks cold for hours? Yes. Does the lid leak? Yes... and that's the only reason for the low review. A slight design change of either a gasket, or a screw top would probably eliminate this.
