It's very possible that, somewhere in that big universe up there, some intelligent civilization didn't evolve knives. It's not a given, you know. Our species got lucky early, but maybe there's some space-faring society that got the wheel first, so they just run over their food until it liquefies then drink it down like a protein shake.
