Unlike hockey or figure skates which usually require a "break-in" period to soften up and ultimately fit better after many uses, the Zephyr allows the skater to have immediate comfort out of the box and get on the ice right away. The pull loop on the tongue helps make entry and exit easier so there is more time on the ice and not prepping. W models features a little bit of synthetic fur in the upper sections of the liner for an extra touch of comfort and warmth.
• Secure Fit: The buckle and lace closure system secure the feet inside the skates to enhance the fit and add support. When learning, newer skaters tend to forget how important the closure system is. Improper fit or support can compromise the performance and affect ones ability to skate. During the skate stride this system works with the molded shell to securely support the skater and lock in the ankles to improve skating performance.
• Wanted: Rinks and Ponds: Blades are one of the most important features of a good skate to help elevate the learning curve and experience. Having a good quality blade that is sharpened makes a huge difference in how much the skate can 'bite' into the ice for pushing off and having more control while skating. The stainless steel blades will hold their edge longer for less sharpening. The W model features a figure blade with toe picks. Please note all new skates should be sharpened before use.
