Man, mom sure keeps a lot of charging batteries on hand.

"Joe, something's going on."

"Whaddya mean?"

"Mom got another package in the mail."

"So?"

"So it's another iGo Charger with 12 AA and 4 AAA Batteries."

"Wow, that's like the third one this month."

"Exactly. And I think I know what's going on."

"What?"

"Let's look at the evidence: Mom's been buying a bunch of rechargeable AA and AAA batteries and chargers, so it must be important that she have a steady supply of charged batteries."

"Sure."

"And she keeps them all in her bedroom."

"I'm with you so far."

"And at night there's always that weird buzzing sound."

"O…kay."

"I think it's obvious: she's stocking up for Christmas."

"Oh…right. Christmas. Why Christmas?"

"Think about it: she probably bought us a ton of cool toys, and as every kid knows toys are powered by batteries. She had to hide them somewhere, and that's why she gave us that weird, rambling speech about why we're definitely never allowed to just barge into her room without knocking and waiting for her to respond."

"And the sounds?"

"The toys must be so cool even she can't resist. She's playing with them every night, you know, 'testing' them for us or something."

"That would explain the joyful squealing and giggling."
