Well, I'm using it in the emotional sense, not in the 'ways to get your post quickly deleted' sense, which some previously posted emoticons were clearly generated to do (so let's stay away from those particular ones ;).

First off because I do like it.

Second because the one that I posted got pulled, not that I expected it to last all that long anyway. but I was sort of being an ascii.

On the other hand woot! you should have expected that there were going to be a lot of those, now don't go asking the same thing about eight emotocons. I wonder just how many people posted three is equal to or greater than the variable O today, I bet it was a lot of people.
