I have some experience running regular home games multiple times per week, using a variety of chips and types of decks.
If you're looking to have home games of more than 3-4 people you definitely will need more chips. The chips themselves are decent enough quality, although I prefer the 11.5 gram "dice" composite chips that you see in similar sets to this.
The problem here is twofold. The biggest being the distribution of colors. Everybody likes playing with a decent number of chips in front of them, no matter what the stakes are. Its no fun when the white chip is your minimum denomination and there's only 50 of them to go around. Suffice that 50 of each means not enough nickels, and too many $5 chips (substitute your own stakes based on testicular fortitude).
What you really want per player are about 20 small denomination chips , 10 medium, and 5 high value chips, plus some super high value chips for when more money gets injected to the game and you need to consolidate. Don't forget you'll also need some extras of each color to make change and add to the game as need be. For small home games, a 300 chip set with an uneven color balance will work (100 white, 100 red, 50 green, 25 blue, 25 black) works a lot better.
In addition, those decks are going to be poor quality paper cards that easily crease and wear. If you just want something for when relatives come over to kill time, fine. If you want to host games and play even semi seriously, you're better off with a $30 set of plastic casino quality cards (washable, won't crease, untearable) and 300-1,000 chips of whatever kind you like. I would research wholesalers and buy my chips by themselves at a bulk rate. I don't need a silly case.
