That'll be me, I guess. Is this the same Anolon 2-Piece set that was on Home.Woot (or maybe even a Home.Woot-off!) a month or two ago? I'm trying to find the post, but not having luck. I thought I remembered the long skillet being two sided (one of which was "grill-like"). Maybe my brain's a little fuzzy?

It’s a dry good and it does not have an expiration date. Go forth and make all the lovely root beer!

I bought the root beer kit awhile back. Tasted great and none of my friends believed I made it myself. Easy to follow directions.

Got my hopes up that was a pot rack.

The problem I had with a similar colander is that it only has holes in the bottom and doesn't drain as well as those with holes or slots all over.

Are there artificial sweeteners in the Root beer? I'd love to get this as a gift for my Dad, but we're pretty anti-aspartame around here.

You get root beer flavor (liquid) and cream flavor (powder), along with the yeast packet. You provide the sweetener, 1 cup packed brown and 2 cups white sugar. Ours was super sweet so I plan to make the second batch with a lot less sugar.

Really? I used the amount they said and ours turned out pretty perfect.

Anybody know how it compares to cast iron?

The casserole is lighter than a cast iron pot. It is also not for stovetop use, only for oven or microwave. I have it, although it is in the box right now waiting until I move. I took it out of the box to make sure it arrived safely and then packed it safely back up. (Our mailpersons often toss things over the gate onto the patio. So far, only the boxes have been damaged.)
