We use all of those things all the time. You don't have to be a chemist to put knowledge you gained in a chem lab to use.

I think I could get by in my life without taking Chemistry. I loved Chemistry, but honestly, can't tell you where I've used stoichiometry since those days in college Chem class!! As for algebra, I actually do use that every day at work.

I would vote for gym too. Dodgeball and tumbling does not apply to real life, and all the rest of those I use.

15.6% have no use for English or spelling. Guess that explains why we can't communicate.

Geography? Uh, f**k know. If I wet outside, it doesn't take too many steps for me to get lost.

Everything else though, daily basis.

I actually, DID use algebra yesterday. I work at this ice-cream booth that includes sales tax in the prices. We have to report our sales WITHOUT including tax, so I devised a formula any valedictorian could use.

If Cash Made = Sales + (Sales x Tax Rate), then algebra, then Cash Made / (1 + Tax Rate) = Sales Reported.

So all of you folks that picked chemistry... You don't cook?

I hate to tell the 16.3% that chose algebra that they probably use that more often than anything else, certainly more often than they realize. Ever go to a store, look at the price of something then figure out what the tax is? Algebra my friends. Though I'm thinking that nowadays, with technology and all, you know "smart phones",maybe you're right. Friggin people can't count back change if the register doesn't tell'm.

Really? What about, "What was the author's intent?" or, "Describe the man vs. environment conflicts in this piece of literature." THAT'S the garbage that I don't use.

..but aside from that, you use the problem-solving (that you should have learned) from chemistry each day.

I didn't vote, because between my hobbies and my job in a pharmacy, I use everything I learned in school.

I use em all on a regular basis. Maybe if you'd thrown calculus in there I could've picked that, but these are all basically daily use. Chemistry being one of my favorite subjects.

They should have had Trigonometry in this list. That was the bane of my high school math years and I can't think of a single time I have used it since.

I never took Chemistry so even though I use it all the time I had to pick that one. Otherwise I use all of them almost every day.

I use all the above every day, if kids were smart they would pay attention in school, but unfortunately they know it all and won't.

Trigonometry - it should be on this list. I've never used it in real life but it made me absolutely miserable in school. I actually flunked it the first time. :-(

Chemistry. I mean Potions Class. Professor Snape was horrid but he is an all around good guy. Defense Against the Dark Arts was always my best class. I'm an Auror now--the best.

I use all except Algebra.

While, admittedly, Calculus is above (and expands on) Alegebra, and I use it every day, I sucked at Algebra so bad I failed. Passed Cal with a 92 and Trig with a 99.

For a while I didn't meed many of them, but for the last few years or so I've been using all of them. I would have never guessed back then...

I voted "Math" because "Calculus" was not an option. I have never been required to use a double integral in real life.

You are very right. The reason everyone should learn chemistry is that it is the system's best effort at teaching problem solving.

I never thought of figuring a simple percentage then adding it as algebra.

I went with geography but that's really a lie too. I use all of those things!
